Summary:
The Association recently became Focal Point and constitutes a Regional Working Group on HIV&AIDS and Health on behalf of the Private Sector in Tanzania to implement health related programmes/activities and facilitate policy reform nationally and regionally working, closely with the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) as the alternative Focal Point. Therefore, to further strengthen its Secretariat in this area, ATE now invites applications from qualified Tanzanian Nationals for the following vacant post
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Association, you will support and coordinate Private Sector programmes and activities on HIV&AIDS and health in Tanzania. You will be responsible to strengthen the coordination and leadership among private sector actors and other key stakeholders (e.g. TACAIDS, Labor unions, Ministry of Labor. Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, ILO, bi- and multilateral donors, civil society) and support the creation and implementation and sustainable HIV&AIDS and/or Employee Wellness programmes. You will document and share good practices and you will assist in identifying funding opportunities on behalf of the Private Sector.
Description:
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Strengthen coordination and leadership among private sector actors and key stakeholders in Tanzania on HIV&AIDS support them in their programmes and activities on HIV&AIDS and health at the workplace.
Represent ATE and Tanzania in the East African Business Council (EABC) and other relevant forums.
Document and disseminate good practices in the management of HIV&AIDS and other relevant health issues at workplaces, as well as other Private Sector initiatives in the health sector.
Support the “Fight against HIV/AIDS Award” under the ATE’s Employer of the Year Award.
Support the selection and training of focal persons in associations and companies to coordinate the implementation of HIV&AIDS and health services among their members/employees.
Collect and disseminate among private sector members information, education and communication (IEC/BCC), using different approaches to raise awareness of HIV&AIDS and other relevant health issues at the workplace.
Develop HIV&AIDS Workplace Policy guidelines, a standard Minimum Workplace HIV&AIDS Package for the private sector and develop a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system for tracking the private sector response to HIV&AIDS in Tanzania.
Develop/review human resource policies and practices on HIV&AIDS
Requirements:
University degree in Public Health or a related field /Post graduate degree qualification is an added advantage.
Extensive experience (at least 3 years) in the implementation of HIV prevention, interventions, especially bio-medical and behavior change interventions, including sexual and reproductive health and HIV, or other related programs in Tanzania and the region
Ability to use standard computer and software applications: Advanced MS Word. Advanced Power Point
Dynamic and motivated individual with significant understanding of HIV and AIDS in Tanzania and at the regional level
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building competencies coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in written/spoken English and Swahili required.
