Centenary Bank, the leading Micro Finance and Commercial Bank in Uganda seeks to recruit suitably qualified, experienced and competent persons in the following fields;
Principal Internal Auditor
Reports to: Manager Internal Audit
Role: Lead teams to conduct and review departmental and branch audit assignments, train and develop staff in accordance with the annual audit plan and audit manual.
Key Result Areas
Identify key business and operational objectives, understand risks inherent in activities to be audited & related controls and develop audit plans for assigned H/O Departments/ branches.
Supervise staff on audit assignments and develop staff in line with policy and training needs.
Audit and prepare quality working papers in compliance with standards and policy in assigned areas.
Review field work of subordinates on audit assignment and ensure quality audit work papers in compliance with standards and policy.
Lead audit teams and prepare quality draft audit reports for review by assignment manager.
Ensure timely completion of assignments.
Honours degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, and other relevant courses from a recognized University.
Possession of ACCA, CPA CIA part 2 qualification will be added advantage.
A minimum of 5 years hands on experience in a financial institution3 of which must have been in audit /risk related roles.
Knowledge of key risks and good internal controls in a banking environment.
Thorough knowledge and application of a Risk Based Audit methodology
Knowledge of banking practices and regulatory requirements.
Experience in the use of Audit Command Language (ACL) is desirable.
Excellent analytical skills
Capable of exercising creativity
Market research and making recommendations to user departments
Good communication and Interpersonal skills
High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
Ability to manage several deliverables in a timely and effective manner
Good IT skills
