Call for Expression of Interest to Join KCA University Governing Council

About KCA University

KCA University is renowned for offering unique and exciting programmes with an emerging reputation as a comprehensive business university that delivers innovation to aid and delight its customers.
The University’s current student body is made up of students from various countries in Eastern Africa including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia and South Sudan.
The University has four campuses, with the main one in Ruaraka along Thika Road in Nairobi. The other three are located at Ecobank Towers in Nairobi city centre, at Kitengela and in the lakeside city of Kisumu.
Governing Council Membership
Applications are hereby invited for membership to the Governing Council of KCA University.
The Council is charged with exercise of oversight over the entire business and institutional affairs of the University and is answerable to the Board of Trustees of the University and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), the sponsor of KCA University.
We are looking for experienced and innovative leaders of integrity within the private or public sectors of the economy with interest in higher education and who are keen to inspire growth and to make a difference.
Members of the Governing Council should possess a first degree from accredited university.
Leadership Skills Required:
The ideal candidate should be deep rooted in good corporate governance best practice with a combination of some or all of the following skills and experiences:
1. Knowledge and skills in effective strategic planning and implementation;
 
2. Fundraising capacity with demonstrable initiatives to serve causes for public good while ensuring institutional sustainability;
3. A corporate leader with linkages or exposure in the international business environment;
4. A successful entrepreneur with a distinguished business record;
5. Human resource experience especially in a leading educational or similar institution with competencies in performance based management cultures;
6. Distinguished scholars in leadership positions with passion for research and with publications in the area of business or IT;
7. Accomplished professionals in ICT, finance, law and related sectors.
 
Tenure: The Governing Council membership is a three-year term, which may be renewed by the Board of Trustees on the basis of satisfactory performance.
